Welcome to my online portfolio. My name is Amanda Guedry and here is my story.

 

As a child, I loved to entertain! I wanted to sing my heart out center stage at the local community theatre and spike the ball down for the game-winning point on the volleyball court. I also loved school; I could ask an infinite number of questions to feed my curious mind. My favorite class was art. It was the perfect combination of discovery and creativity. Dreaming of ways I could bring my interests together seemed impossible. What could they have in common? It wasn't until much later that I realized the connection between them: story. 

 

I love to tell stories! My platforms may differ - theatrical arts, the adrenalin rush of a sports battle, or a color-filled multi-interpretable canvas. That is why I love design... it tells a story that can be interpreted to be whatever the user needs. It hits all the senses in a way that most people don't even realize the effect it has on their physical and physiological well being. The story is both experiential and visual.

 

During my junior year of high school, is when I decided I wanted to be a professional storyteller. Although I was unsure where. On stage? On buildings? In buildings? In film? I liked them ALL, so that's what I did. On May 15, 2020, through the University of Louisiana at Lafayette virtual graduation, I received a Bachelor of Interior Design with a minor in Theatre. Now, I can't wait to see what the future holds for me... more stories to learn from, tell, and experience.
